Friday Night Dinner December 1st with Rabbi Dr. Moshe Faierstein Rabbi Dr. Moshe Faierstein, Ph.D., was born in Sweden and immigrated to Brooklyn, New York as a child. His early education was at Yeshivat Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch. He studied at the City College of New York, the Hebrew University, Yeshiva Pri Etz Hayyim (Jerusalem), Jewish Theological Seminary of America, and received his Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Temple University in Philadelphia. He is the author or editor of twelve books, and has published approximately one hundred and twenty articles and reviews in a wide variety of scholarly publications. His books include, All is in the Hands of Heaven: The Teachings of Rabbi Mordecai Joseph Leiner (1989, revised edition, 2005); Jewish Mystical Autobiographies: Book of Visions and Book of Secrets (1999); From Safed to Kotsk: Studies in Kabbalah and Hasidism (2013); Ze’enah U-Re’enah: A Critical Translation into English 2 vols. (2017); Truth Springs from the Earth: The Teachings of Rabbi Menahem Mendel of Kotsk (Forthcoming).
