| Join us as close friends and family share memories and honor the many years of service and love that Rebbetzin Hadassa gave to our community and to her family. |
| Since the early 1980s, Rebbetzin Hadassa was an integral part of the Carlebach Shul community. Together with her husband, Reb Eli Chaim, she created an atmosphere of Chassidic warmth and care in the Shul. Walking in felt like stepping back into the shtetl: Reb Eli Chaim telling over words of Torah alongside stories of the great Chassidic masters, and Rebbetzin Hadassa tending to everyone’s spiritual and physical well-being. This was not a job; it was her calling. Over the years she not only fed the thousands who came through the doors but also served as the Shul’s Executive Director during critical times. Her work enabled the Shul, in 1992, to purchase the building it had rented for many years. She brought order to a space where creativity could easily have led to chaos, with a nurturing attitude that always felt personal. Her presence elevated every occasion. |
| She leaves behind a beautiful legacy: her wonderful daughters Sterna, Sheina, Billie, Freyda, and Esty, and their families – grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also the grandmother of Rabbi Naftali Citron, Rabbi of the Carlebach Shul. |
| She was deeply devoted to her family, remaining intimately involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, offering each generation her love, wisdom, guidance, and unwavering presence. |
| Drawing on her extraordinary experiences during the Holocaust, when she courageously helped hide Jewish orphans from the Nazis, she mentored many students, sharing not only the lessons of survival but also a lifelong commitment to courage, faith, and responsibility for others. |
