We are proud to join thousands of Jews at hundreds of synagogues across North America to celebrate what unifies all Jews – Shabbat!
Naomi Seidman is the author of a new groundbreaking biography of Sarah Schenirer, the revolutionary figure who, more than a century ago, broke through millennia of taboo, and succeeded in making Torah education generally available for the first time to girls and women, founding the international network of Bais Yaakov schools. Naomi will be sharing stories and songs about interwar Bais Yaakov. Naomi has written extensively on Yiddish culture and gender issues as a professor at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA, before accepting her current appointment as a Professor in the Department of Religion at the University of Toronto.
