The Carlebach Shul strives to provide a beautiful experience for everyone participating in our Shabbat dinners. These dinners provide a unique opportunity for both members and visitors to celebrate Yom Tov together in a lively and inviting setting. Attendees can expect delicious, homemade food, lots of singing and inspiring words of Torah from the world-renowned scholars-in-residence who join us for these dinners.

Members $40 and Non-members $50, with a $5 discount if reserved before Wednesday, December 18th.

With Rabbi Naftali Citron and Ari Goldman, in memory of Rabbi Dr. Naphtali Carlebach

Ari Goldman is a distinguished journalist and journalism educator who has trained hundreds of young people to be better reporters and writers. He enjoyed a long career at The New York Times, where he covered a variety of beats including politics, crime, education, transportation, and religion. He is now a tenured professor at Columbia University, where he directs the Scripps Howard Program on Religion, Journalism and the Spiritual Life. The program has enabled him to take his Covering Religion seminar on study tours of Israel, Ireland, Italy, Russia, and India. His former students have gone on to be religion writers at such papers as the Chicago Tribune, the Miami HeraldThe Baltimore Sun, and the Raleigh News & Observer.

As a boy, Goldman was strongly influenced by Reb Shlomo. He was even Reb Shlomo’s roadie for a while. He has been a Fulbright Professor in Israel, a Skirball Fellow at Oxford University in England, and a scholar-in-residence at Stern College for Women. He is a founding faculty member of the School of the New York Times, a high school program launched in 2016. He has also been a lecturer for Times Journeys.

The Carlebach Shul strives to provide a beautiful experience for everyone participating in our Shabbat or Yom Tov dinners. A typical dinner commences approximately 2 hours after Mincha begins. These dinners provide a unique opportunity for both members and visitors to celebrate Shabbat together in a lively and inviting setting. Attendees can expect delicious food, lots of singing, and inspiring words of Torah from the world-renowned scholars-in-residence who join us for these dinners.

REFUND POLICY:
The Carlebach Shul incurs costs for every event based on the number of reservations. Therefore, please note that unless otherwise indicated, the cancellation deadline for any event is 24 hours before the start of the event. After that deadline, we will not be able to issue any refunds for that event. Thank you for your understanding.
